Systems Engineer: Database & Middleware- 1 Position
Job Description
Systems Engineer focused on databases and middleware designs, implements, maintains and supports the systems that connect applications and manage data, ensuring seamless data flow and application communication. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, maintenance, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and upgrades of database and middleware platforms
Key Responsibilities
Create and implement database and middleware solutions
Install, configure, and maintain various database management systems
Install, configure, and maintain various middleware platforms, such as application servers
Perform routine maintenance, perform proactive health audits, and manage software upgrades to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Monitor the performance and health of middleware and database environments, identifying and resolving issues to optimize efficiency and prevent outages
Provide Level 1, 2, and 3 technical support for incidents, including root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to improve reliability
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for middleware and database configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Work with cross-functional teams, including development, infrastructure, and security, to integrate new applications and services
Strong knowledge of database technologies ( e.g. Oracle Database, MySQL, SQL Server), middleware platforms (e.g.Oracle Weblogic, Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, Wildfly), messaging(App Connect Enterprise, MQ , RabbitMQ)
Key Requirements
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of database technologies ( e.g. Oracle Database, MySQL), middleware platforms (Weblogic, Apache), and messaging systems(IIB, MQ, RabbitMQ)

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Experience Required
- 2+ years of experience in database support, middleware, web application servers
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Weblogic, Apache Tomcat
- Understanding of ITIL principles and change management processes is an added advantage
- Certification such as Oracle Database (OCA/OCP) or WebLogic is desirable
